Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Watch your child's eyes light up as he/she sees his/her own drawings become the central focus of a game. Suddenly, their art is alive with possibility. Children will delight in the action-packed house they just drew or gasp as they watch their very own rocket blast off to a faraway planet. And it's all framed within a playful approach to reading that not only leads children to new discoveries, but also gives them a feeling of accomplishment. There is a kind of magic that exists wherever color and action connect. ItzaBitza is a place where reading precedes discovery, and giggles lead to belly laughs. For children ages 4+, ItzaBitza is based on a three-year collaborative effort with learning researchers and reading specialists that was started at Microsoft Corporation.

5 out of 5 stars Innovative Learning Tool - Fantastic for my 5 year old and my 3 year old with Autism   January 6, 2009
I wanted to share how much our family is enjoying ItzaBitza - It's perfect for us! I have two children - a 5 year old daughter who is in Kindergarten and a 3 year old son. My 3 year old has autism and this game is fantastic for him - it really brings out the imaginative play for him as well as direction following - both are key development areas for autistic children - I've recommended it to his ABA therapist who loves it! My daughter is also learning to read and it has been really great to watch her progress - to "play" and learn at the same time! It's not uncommon to hear fantastic hearty laughter coming out of the computer room!

Thanks for this innovative and great new tool to connect with and enable both of our children!

Kristina

The first minutes that my daughter played was sufficient to score this wonderful game. She is loving this game where she has been discovering every time more when start the game besides the increase your perceptions, curiosity and creativity.
We are from Brazil and English is our second language. My daughter Fernanda (6 years old) didn't find any difficult to understand this game. For me, this game is also an excellent way to introduce in the English language.

5 out of 5 stars Kids of all ages will love this game   December 15, 2008

ItzaBitza is a terrific game - I've been a game developer since 1994 and I've made and played many games for kids, and there are very few titles with the innovation and craftsmanship of ItzaBitza. I have three kids aged 13, 9 and 6 and all three of them played the game through to the end and enjoyed every minute of it. It's refreshing to see a game that is built on a genuine understanding of how a kid thinks.

5 out of 5 stars Great for Children Learning to Read (and their reading siblings too)   December 12, 2008

We're enjoying ItzaBitza quite a bit!

I made the purchase for my 6.9 year old daughter who is in first grade because she needs some extra practice in learning to read. She's quickly figured out how to click words in the bubbles to speak the words aloud and is already getting better at recognizing words.

My older daughter is 9 years old and in third grade. She's a VERY strong reader having read all 7 Harry Potter books already. She's also enjoying the game, more from the perspective of working on the puzzles within the game like figuring out that you have to complete one task and then start another to complete a task to earn a star.

5 out of 5 stars Unique Game, Great Fun   December 12, 2008

We got this gift for our 7 year old who loves to draw. It took about 10 minutes for her to get the hang of it and now she does not want to do anything else (and she loves the catchy name) It is unique in that you create/draw different pictures and then they come to life. For example, you choose a scene , like "at home" and then draw a dog house (the game adds the dogs), then it asks you to draw a dog bowl (since the dogs are hungry). It just keeps building on the scene that you are creating. It also has some great learning (especially reading). If your child is not yet a reader, they can point to the words and the program reads the words to you. Kudos to a great new game (and just in time for the holidays!).
