3 out of 5 stars I Liked It At First...Then I Got *Bored* :-(   December 6, 2008

At first, I really enjoyed playing the NANCY DREW: THE MYSTERY OF THE CLUE BENDER SOCIETY. The graphics are nice and the puzzles aren't too difficult to solve, and it's like reading a mystery story but you get to be part of the action. You interact with different characters and there are clues that you read from puzzles that you have to solve. You also get to ride a motorcycle and visit various locations in the town.

However, after playing on and off for a few weeks I started to get bored with the way you have to tap on these "arrow" markers to either enter a room or move to another space or hall. It started to annoy me, especially when you had to get into the elevator and if you didn't angle the character just right, you get placed back outside the elevator.

Another thing that bored me was going up and down the multiple levels to solve some of the puzzles and that was due to the constantly having to tap the "arrows" to progress. So I stopped playing.

I'll probably go back to it, but then again...It's not a bad game, but it isn't stellar for me.

4 out of 5 stars Fun, enjoyed it more than Olde World...   September 25, 2008

Remember that this perspective is coming from a 37 year old woman. I reviewed the other Nancy Drew game, and I'll review the Hidden Staircase after I master it this weekend. (No challenging feat, I'm not bragging)

I liked this game. It was a bit longer than the last one and if you're familar with the mini-games, they really haven't changed. The story was better, and I have to admit, I had to locate a 'cheat' to figure out how the Grandfather clock worked.

For adults, this game is like a cheap novel; you can finish it in a few hours, its fun, requires very little brain-power and it takes your mind off of the real world.

I don't have kids, but my neighbor's teen beats us at Halo and everything else. I would image this might bore video game junkies.....

3 out of 5 stars A little better than the first DS game . . .   September 22, 2008

This DS game for Nancy Drew was ok. Definitely better thanthe first in length and had a little more substance but not quite HerInteractive quality as of yet. Some of the puzzles were a little redundant, and there a few bugs in the game. I had to restart it twice because towards the end of the game, for example, Nancy got stuck on top of the roof in a corner and COULD NOT GET OUT. She kept walking back and forth like a zombie. I appreciate that there are Nacy Drew games coming out for DS because I like them on the go but there is still some work to be done. I would like HerInteractive to make a DS game, but not if it will affect the quality of the PC games. The rest of you companies keep up the progression.

4 out of 5 stars Another Cute Game for Younger Detectives   August 3, 2008

Another fun little adventure game for the younger set. This adventure game is very similar to the first Nancy Drew DS game and while this game has its flaws, the adventure portions are quite good and fun to play.

The look is similar if not identical to the first Nancy Drew DS game and plays like it too. The mini-games are back and can get a little boring after a while. For me, the game was very simple and alot of fun so if you want a fun little game for on the go entertainment for younger gamers this one will be fine. Flawed but easy to play on the go. So - if you liked the first one - you'll like this one too.
