Big Fun in the Old West July 17, 2008 Westward is a really great game. It starts out very simple but increases in difficulty rather quickly...and by the time you reach "Lightning Bluff", you had better make sure you have a good grasp on running the town, or else the whole place will either burn down or be ravaged by bandits. It's not easy to keep all your townspeople happy all the time, and it seems especially challenging to keep the food supply up...but when everybody is happy is when you get to hear hilarious comments like "I still have almost ALL my teeth!" and a gunslinger's confession of "I love my job!" A LOT of fun!
Great games July 4, 2008 I really enjoy playing this game and its sequal. I look forward to the release of Westward 3
OK for a while January 12, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
"Westward" takes you into the old Wild West, as settlers become citizens in a series of boomtowns and tame the wilderness.
For kids, this game would be pretty fun and challenging. Learning to manage and develop resources is pretty tricky. The comments the characters make are pretty funny.
I guess what I didn't like about this game came from the 10 years of playing the "WarCraft" games. Your characters gather gold and lumber at an appallingly slow rate compared to those games. Plus, the most of the higher level buidlings seem to have almost no effect on the game. Moving characters is also very slow and difficult as well.
ADDICTING!! January 11, 2008 I downloaded the demo of this and got TOTALLY HOOKED!! What a bunch of fun and great adventures, too.
It's FUN!! December 29, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am currently playing this game, and it's fun. It's kind of hard though. There is a lot to do and sometimes it can get frustrating. It kind of reminds me of The Oregon Trail. Pretty cool. Probably for teens and up.
